William Gray has been involved in basketball for the past twenty years as either a player or coach. A native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, William began his basketball career at East Forsyth High School. There he played four years and was an All Conference athlete for three years. William attended Winston-Salem State University on a four-year athletic scholarship for basketball. While there the legendary Clarence "Big House" Gaines coached him. During his collegiate career as the shooting guard, William led his team to numerous victories during the regular season and the CIAA Tournament. After obtaining his B. S. Degree in Exercise Science and becoming certified for teaching Health and Physical Education, William began teaching at The Downtown Middle School. There he also began his coaching career by devoting his time to the 8th grade boy's basketball team. William then accepted the Head JV Coaching position at Mt. Tabor High School. In his premier season as head coach, William led his team to a 19-5 record. The Spartans were Metro Conference champs. He also assisted Andy Muse on Varsity for seven years before he took over the Head Women’s Basketball Program at R. J. Reynolds High School. In his first year as head coach, the team had a great turn around from 1-24 to 12-13 season. The Demons finished third in the Central Piedmont Conference and went to the NC State Playoffs. The team had not been in nine years. With the success of his team he was voted Coach of the Year by all the coaches in the conference for a tremendous season. |

Chris has been involved faithfully for almost 18 years as a player and a student of the game of basketball. While attending Clinton High School, Chris gained honors as a team captain and All-Conference Awards 3 consecutive years. Displaying his leadership skills Chris helped lead is team to two consecutive regional championship games in 1997 and 1998. Chris has also had some success in the Collegiate and Pro levels as well, as he spent a short time playing in Spain for team Real Madrid. Due to a near fatal car crash in the summer of 1999 Chris had to put his professional career goals on grab. Since then he has participated in copious amounts of Summer Camps, After-School Programs as well as clinics and charity events. Chris also spent the summer of 2003 playing in the WMBL (Washington Metropolitan Basketball League), were he sustained his showmanship of leadership and success not only as player but as a student of the game. With his well-rounded character, diverse with a love for the youth, and his knowledge of the game of basketball, Chris brings a valuable asset to not only the youth but One on One Basketball as well. Presently, Chris is the Director of Operations for the Triangle (Raleigh-Durham Chapel Hill NC) area and adjoining cities. He has opened up the 1st franchise of One on One Basketball in the area. With high hopes and aspiration, Chris is on a path to assist the area youth to live out his vision, of becoming a better basketball player, and person as well. |
