Michael Rausa

Regional Director

Michael Rausa is a true example of the One on One Basketball system and philosophy. One of the original Washington DC clients, Michael began working with One on One during his Freshmen year in high school. A three year varsity player and stand-out on the high school basketball team, Michael competed in the prestigious Washington Catholic Athletic Conference, arguably the toughest league in the Washington D.C. area while attending Paul VI High School in Fairfax, Virginia. Michael led Paul VI to the school’s first Virginia State Catholic School Championship in his senior year and was one of only five players picked as the Virginia tournament's top athletes in both his junior and senior years.

After graduating from Paul VI, he attended Mira Costa Junior College in San Diego, California where he excelled in basketball, winning all-league honors. Michael then went on to play basketball at the University of California at Davis where he was a full-time starter during his senior year. He graduated from the University of California at Davis with a degree in managerial economics in 2001. Now a Californian, he continues to play in several evening basketball leagues in the San Diego area and aspires to be a basketball official and a coach of young players.

Since graduation from Davis, Michael has been a trainee and a financial consultant for the American Express Company in San Diego, California. He has helped train young basketball players in the past working with “One on One Basketball” in the Northern Virginia area and has a special way with youth, demonstrating patience and conveying instruction in an effective manner. He has first hand knowledge of the One on One philosophy as both a player and coach and is committed to the development of San Diego’s youth. Michael knows what it takes to be successful and now he wants to share his insights and experience with other young players.
