2014 Harriet Novarr Scholarship Award Winner: Ashley Kuleza

Ashley has helped her teams achieve success on the court from a young age. In sixth grade, she was asked to play with her middle school's seventh and eighth grade team. Subsequently, she led her team to back to back conference championships for the first time in school history. In high school at Washington Waldorf, Ashley started all four years on her varsity basketball team. Waldorf won their division during her sophomore and senior year. They also made it to the semi final round of playoffs for the first time in twenty years her junior and senior year. During her senior year, Ashley became the Waldorf's all-time leading scorer (1,580 pts) on her way to becoming the Potomac Valley Conference Player of the year. Ashley will continue her basketball career at Bates College, where she plans to major in Pre-Med and Geology.
