The Hoops and Hope Tour moved on to Wisconsin for another awesome camp on August 21 . Rami Hoaglin is the Girls Varsity Basketball Coach for Stoughton High School and every year at the end of the summer she invites 5th-8th grade girls to a free clinic. The Hoops and Hope Tour was invited to help lead this years clinic.
Coach Hoaglin is extremely successful on the court and you can see why. The way she relates to her players is what every high school coach should strive for. Her assistant coach, Rachel Ruck, is another great coach whose intensity and teaching points were exactly what you want from a coach!
We had about 50 girls show up for the clinic, which was held at Stoughton High School's beautiful Field House. The girls were extremely attentive and energetic as we put them through some pretty strenuous ball handling drills. We then worked on being efficient on the offensive end with some full court 1 on 1 drills in which you had a limited number of dribbles. The girls got a real kick out of a shooting game we played next, and their competitive juices really got going.
Coach Hoaglin and Coach Ruck then led the girls through an awesome fast break drill that did a great job in teaching the kids to look up and pass the ball ahead to their open teammates.
We finished up by handing out some prizes to the most enthusiastic campers. It was not an easy decision as all the girls did an awesome job!
The girls at Stoughton High School are extremely lucky to have such awesome and supportive coaches, and we know they will be successful on and off the court with these great mentors.
Go Lady Vikings!!!
